Earlier, the Bangladesh batsmen had to put a lot much of effort in achieving a score of 260. Everything seemed to be working correct for Bangladesh till the end of 6th over when they were at a score of 65 for 0. All of a sudden four of their top order batsmen fell victims to the Srilankan bowlers due to irresponsible batting. Ashraful was outstanding forBangladesh with his marvellously carved innings of 75 runs from 94 balls. Unlike normally, he picked up his first boundary only on the 37th ball that he faced. He seems to be getting used to this style of play after being criticized for throwing his wicket soon after a good start. Anyhow, it was interesting to watch Naeem Islam's last over fireworks that took Bangladesh past a score of 250.
Srilanka seemed to be on top confidence. Guided by Tilakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara, they achieved the target quite easily in the 45th over itself. Sangakkara too seemed to be heading fast to a century, but fell off a loose shot, edging Shafiul Islam to the wicket keeper. He had scored 74 runs off just 73 balls by then. It was a wonderful innings by Sanga, in which he scored 10 boundaries which included some of those delightful drives along the ground. Dilshan, as always, didn't mind playing the ball in air with some of those lofted shots on the onside, till he was caught by Naeem Islam off the bowling of Mushfiqur Rahim.
Srilanka impressed the fans with some fabulous batting, when Bangladesh can blaim their poor bowling and fielding efforts. They didn't seem to be the same old Bangladesh team who beat Australia. Fielding was not up to the mark by the Bangladesh players. Nothing more to say, Srilankans topped the play in all sections of the game - Batting, Bowling as well as Fielding. India, better beware of the Lankans and in particular, the two of them - Dilshan and Sangakkara.
