A Comprehensive Win with Errors

It has been a comprehensive victory by the Indian Cricket Team at Cuttack, Orissa. It's been some number of matches where, although won, the Luck factor was more than the game play. The last victory by Indians where they made a thrilling win by 3 runs even after posting a huge score of 414, is an example of such a lucky escape. But this victory at Cuttack has been comprehensive! They proved to be the better players around! What else need an Indian Cricket fan need, when he sees the Master Blaster leading the team to a very emphatic win?
Sachin Tendulkar once again rose levels in the minds of his fans with his timely knock of an unbeaten 96 runs from just 104 balls. His innings included 13 boundaries.

Virender Sehwag did his part by getting a quick fire 44 runs from 28 balls. This match also brought out a new hero Ravindra Jadeja, who scalped 4 important wickets of the Srilankan Innings.

But even with this victory, a fellow Indian cricket follower will certainly be worrying where our fast bowlers are? Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma seemed to be perishing infront of Dilshan. He certainly has been proving to be the terror in the minds of bowlers. One thing that seems interesting to think about is the fact that Ishant Sharma was included instead of Praveen Kumar, who was actually bowling well and is a useful batsman as well. This needs some thought from the selectors including the captain himself. Another concerning fact is that the Indian team's fielding has gone into a really bad shape. When will they think seriously that fielding is one of the game's important parts? Missing catches, Messed up Run-Out chances, all seemed to be well carried along with the team, as it was in the previous games.

It seems that even with all these concerns, the fellow Indian Cricket Fan is happy till the time his champions are winning. Let's hope that the selectors and the management takes necessary decisions that could improve the team's performance in the missing fields as well, before fans see the ship sinking!
