5 out of 5 for Gambhir

Donald Bradman, Jacques Kallis, Mohammad Yousuf and now Gautam Gambhir! The champion Delhi batsman has joined the group of players who have scored 5 hundreds in consecutive test matches. With that sixer off the bowling of Shakib Al Hasan, he is now the fourth only cricketer who have scored hundreds in 5 tests in a row. He is the first Indian batsman to achieve such a milestone. Indian Cricket is seeing its future in the shoulders of this young Delhi batsman now.

Indian Cricketers Unveil New Shirts

It all started with the century that he scored against Newzealand at Napier on 26th of March '09. There onwards, he hasn't missed out any of the tests that he played. A Hundred of each test, what a brilliant achievement! Congratulations, Gautam. You have proved your brilliance yet again. This young cricketer is proving to be an integral part of the team. It is for sure that he will add his name into the list of champion cricketers across the world.

With the help of Gambhir's century, the Indian team has posted a target of 414 for Bangladesh. Apart from Gambhir, it was Amit Mishra and VVS Lakshman who stood out among the Indian batsmen. Lakshman stood not out at 69 runs. The night watchman Amit Mishra turned out to be very useful to the Indian score. He completed his 50 runs before getting out on a Mahmudullah delivery at the hands of Raquibul Hasan. India declared at 413 for the loss of 8 wickets. The Bangladesh bowling attack was decent enough, apart from Rubel Hossain. He conceded 94 runs in his 15 overs at an economy of 6.26 rpo.

Bangladesh reply was not really good enough compared to their rivals. Imrul Kayes and Shahriar Nafees took an early departure off the field. As the day's play was wound up, they were at a total of 67 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma shared the wickets among them. The match, in its current phase, is certainly in the favour of the Indians. They have a certain upper hand and can plan to bowl out the Bangladesh batsmen on the fourth day of the test, to turn the series into their side.
