Manchester Rolls over, behind Rooney

Wayne Rooney scored 4 goals in a match to take the reigning Champions Manchester United, to the top of the Premier League. On the basis of Rooney's goals, Manchester United defeated Hull for a margin of 4 goals to nill. On the eighth minute itself Rooney beat the Hull goalkeeper Boaz Myhill, latching onto the rebound after a shot from Paul Scholes was parried. But even with the goal from Rooney in the initial phase, Manchester seemed to be fighting a lot in the game. It was in the last ten minutes that Rooney scored three more goals to take the score to 4. His tally for the season is 20 now, with this performance.

The Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson was all praise for Rooney. He expressed his happiness on being on the top of the table. Man United now leads the points table with Chelsea and Arsenal just two points behind. Arsenal has one game more than Manchester in its hand when Chelsea has two.
