Dhoni rescues India again

Impressive! Such elegant was Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the duo of Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina with their bat. Yet another time the India Captian Mahendra Singh Dhoni displayed his credibility with his bat and sailed the Indian Cricket Team to a well comfortable victory. Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina helped him in his course of rescue. Batting in pressure situations is being a habit for these young cricketers. Now and they come into the crease when the team is under immense pressure, keep their head cool, bat impressively and flawlessly finish off with victory secured. These young men are turning out to be very valuable assets for the team as well as the country. What else do the captain need more? Well a good bowling support is what India misses this time.

Cricket - ICC World Twenty20 2009 Preview Press Conference

It was yet another match where the India bowlers failed to find any rythm! It was awful to watch the Indian medium pacers bowling in the match with Bangladesh on Thursday. When can India find a right set of bowlers who can stick on to their line and length with a certain minimum consistency? It still lies as an unanswered question in the mind of the Indian Cricket Fan. The Part time spinners Yuvraj and Jadeja were impressive with their economy, where as the bowlers were not given a chance of displaying their presence. The Bangladesh batsmen were also impressive. They started off quite well with both the openers scoring Half-centuries.

Tamim Iqbal was batting marvellously. He was impressive with his bat and scored a quick fire 60 runs off 52 balls. Imrul Kayes also looked nice with his well earned 70 runs. Ashraful was not able to continue his form as he was in the match against Srilanka. He was bowled out at 29 by Ravindra Jadeja. The Bangladesh seemed to settle down at a score of less than 250 when Yuvraj and Jadeja were bowling the middle overs. Some quick batting by Mahmudullah along with some more bad overs from the Indian Pacers helped Bangladesh post out a total of 296 on the board for India to chase.

The Indian batting started well with Sehwag pushing the ball over the offside boundary line a couple of times. But eventually, he got out trying unnecessarily for a non-existing run. Abdur Razzak accepted the chance without any haze and hit the stumps to get Sehwag out of the ground. Gambhir was unlucky when an inside edged ball slided through the leg stump and shook the bails. Rubel shared a mixture of disaster and happiness on his facial expressions. Perhaps he thought the ball might've gone to the boundary, before he actually understood that he has been awarded a wicket. Yuvraj did not last long enough on the crease to talk about. There on, it was absoulute delight to watch the combination of Virat Kohli and Dhoni batting. Kohli missed out a certain century when he was caught by the captain Shakib off his own bowling. Raina took over from where Virat left out and travelled along with Dhoni till they completed the victory. India were victorious on the 48th over of the innings and in the same over, Dhoni completed his Century and Raina, his fifty.

Bangladesh's fielding was quite impressive even with the dew making it difficult to do so. They left only one chance which came their way - a return catch of Dhoni put down Shakib, which proved to be of big cost. This is a young team of talented cricketers who are completely dedicated towards their game. They have a certain good future in the game.
