Srilanka Won Triangular Series, the pitch retained its Name!

Once again, it was the same result in this pitch. Right from the beginning, it was supporting the team who batted second. It kept its legacy in the finals too. When it joined the Srilankan team's luck and habit of winning in triangular series finals, there was hardly any chance for the Indian team in the field. But Indian team and Suresh Raina in particular, can be proud of a competent failure.

BANGLADESH V SRI LANKA 20-20 WARMUP

The Indian batting took a similar downfall, of the same kind as Srilanka did in their last pre-final match. All the Indian top order batsmen got out scoring single digits against their names. Raina stood separate among the downfalling Indian batting line up. This youngster is proving better every single time he gets time to spend on the crease. He came in to bat at a situation when the Indian fans thought of a score less near 150. And there onwards, he carried on the Innings and scored a fantastic century, the third under his cap. It was his batting that helped India sail to a pretty decent score of atleast 245. Sehwag once again took side of his heroics rather than compiling a better partnership with someone else in the team, when the team was in need of a partnership. The rest of batting is nothing to be really talked about. The Srilankan bowlers were absolutely brilliant. An important fact about the match was that, this was a match where there wasn't any bowler whose economy was more than six in the Srilankan team. Kulasekhara stood tall among the Srilankan bowlers with 4 wickets. Welegedara took 3 of the Indian wickets. After a long gap, once again the Indian team was bowled out before the completion of fifty overs.

Indian bowling was one strike bowler less, once Ashish Nehra left the field. Nehra took the wicket of Upul Tharanga once again, and was seen hobbling off with severe groin pain. The Indian bowling performance was quite good, but not really enough to content such a brilliant batting lineup of the Srilankans. Harbhajan stood out among the bowlers with two wickets under his cap. He scalped wickets of Sangakkara and Kandamby.

Jayawardene was the sailor of the team Srilanka. He had support from Sangakkara and Dilshan. Jayawardene once again displayed his brilliance with a very well earned 71 runs. He displayed excellence in the game with his shots. His score of 71 was out of 81 balls, with a bare minimum of 5 boundaries. Some bad bowling from Sreesanth also helped the Srilanka players to settle down. Sangakkara was also too good with his batting for the Indian team. He seems to be carrying his form in its top level as it was in the last year. Lets wait for more to see from his bat. What an elegant player he is! It is really great watching him with his bat. Anyways, Congratulations Srilanka for a fine performance with both bat and bowl to win the tri series.
